Since 2003, every October in Niederösterreich, one weekend is dedicated to the "Open Ateliers Days" project. Local artists, craftsmen or folk-culture performers open their houses, workshops and community-centers to the wider public to show their work and activities. This project was initiated by the NÖ regional culture agency "Kulturvernetzung" and through various Interreg projects of AT-CZ-SVK cooperation was replicated by similar institutions in the Czech Republic (since 2011) and in Slovakia (since 2017)  --  bordering regions -- to support and widely promote these public ativities in local places.
